Steve Cameron was born and spent his childhood days in London. At the age of six Steve studied piano under the tutelage of Katrina Bosc ARCM  (Associate of the Royal College of Music).  He went on to win the closed solo piano section at the Southall Music Festival in 1964. 

 

During the mid and late sixties, Steve worked on many sessions at the famous Decca Studios. In 1969 Steve toured Europe and the UK with the legendary rock n roll artist Jerry Lee Lewis. During the 1970’s Steve continued to work with various touring bands and provide his musical talents for many more studio sessions.

 

Then came the introduction of the electronic keyboard. Electronic keyboard music became an immediate interest and an ideal medium for Steve’s creative abilities. He very quickly started writing and developing his unique semi classical rock style electronic keyboard music. This significant work and sound brought Steve to the attention of several big names of the day. Steve went on to work with the likes of Alexis Korner and Herbie Flowers. He then joined the hugely successful band “Hot Chocolate” a session keyboard player. Steve has played at many of the famous music venues in the UK and Europe including the London Palladium,, Olympia London, Apollo Hammersmith, Liverpool Empire, Olympia Paris and the Tivoli Gardens Copenhagen.

 

Steve then wrote and recorded his first solo album “The Titanic Suite”.  This suite was launched at the Dominion Theatre, Tottenham Court Road, London; and then released in the UK and across America.

 

Television appearances included BBC Pebble Mill and TVS Studios with Suzi Quattro. This was followed by the release of Steve’s second album “The Manhattan Collection” featuring Steve Cameron, Keith Emerson and Derek Austin.

 

In the year 2000 Steve Cameron and family relocated to North Cornwall.  The magic mystery and drama of the North Cornwall coast inspired Steve to create and release his third album “Visions”.  Steve is also the instigator of the established annual Launceston music event, “Castle Rock”.
